Chadwell Heath 351-5 beat

Stansted Hall 60 by 291 runs

CHAY HEDGES was the star of the show as Chadwell Heath registered an impressive 291-run victory over Stansted Hall thirds in their Hertfordshire & Essex League fixture at the weekend.

Batting first, Heath amassed 351-5, with Hedges the top performer as he compiled a magnificent 119 before he was eventually bowled.

Opener Daniel Finch made a solid 34, Scott Lugg contributed 54, Milan Desai made an unbeaten 45 and Peter Maynard hit 52 not out, as Heath made their way to a dominant score.

In reply, Hall failed to generate the same run-scoring ability, mainly due to some top bowling, notably from Martin Denyer, Gavin Corbin, Joshua Craske and Robert Deacon, who all took two wickets apiece.

Ryan Lincoln grabbed the other wicket as Hall collapsed to 60 all out, way short of the target set by their impressive opponents.

Chadwell Heath II 240-9 beat Thundridge 84 by 156 runs

CHADWELL HEATH'S second string performed like seasoned campaigners to overcome Thundridge to the tune of a massive 156 runs.

Heath batted first and made 240-9 thanks to a sublime innings from Andy Wallace, who scored 84.

There were other valuable contributions too and Michael Larke opened with 22, Jason Biggs hit 15, Andy Falkingham added 38, while R Singh and Danny Fells struck 13 runs each.

In reply, Heath tore into Thundridge's batting order, with William Jarrold spearheading their attack, taking 4-34.

Stephen Lugg took 3-12 and there were wickets for Geoff Hurrell and Derek Baird too as Heath cruised to a routine win.

n CHADWELL HEATH under-13s tumbled out of the Len Steniford Cup after a four-run defeat to South Loughton.

Batting first, Loughton scored 118 in 20 overs and lost just three wickets, with Heath given hope by bowler Louis Francis, who returned figures of 1-8.

In reply, Chadwell Heath could only manage 114-5, slipping to a disappointing defeat, even though Charlie Wallace scored 29 before being run out while Francis, voted man of the match, retired on 33.
